“Whole Thing,” is Bates re-invented. After two socially conscious projects, the queen of the underground found a need to lighten the mood and further challenge her listeners and her competition. This is for the person who just wants to vibe to the beat and dance as well as the person who appreciates creativity and lyricism with a message. As fun as the song is to listen to, it still packs a dark message of desperation and struggle. It’s tucked in so tight that it could be overlooked.
